On 31 May and 2 June 2021, three months into the project, the RE-SAMPLE Consortium convened online for a series of workshops and presentations. The partners recapped and celebrated the first achievements, as everyone has been working really hard to submit the protocols for ethical approvals to launch the cohort study at the hospital sites.
Previous to the meeting, the partners had shared RE-SAMPLE mini-lectures about COPD comorbidities and exacerbations, secure multiparty computation, Gemelli Generator, and the GDPR. A Q&A session about the videos was followed by an overview of the objectives and progresses of each Work Package (WP).
Three themes took centre stage during the meetings: continuous user involvement, architecture for the RE-SAMPLE platform, and data management. The respective workshops were supplemented with interactive team activities to compensate for the online format of the meeting.
The partners look forward to the data collection phase of the project and to the next reunion in September 2021.
